Grand Falls Golf Club has a rich history dating back to 1905 when construction began on the paper mill and town of Grand Falls. As part of the development, the Anglo-Newfoundland Development Company cleared land for farming at the intersection of the Exploits River and Rushy Pond Brook. In 1924, local enthusiasts initiated a golf course with six holes on the former farm site, which later expanded to a nine-hole facility. In 2004, an additional nine holes on the opposite side of Rushy Pond Brook were officially opened.
The original nine holes offer a generally flat and open layout with small greens, while the new nine features tighter fairways bordered by the forest on both sides and larger greens. The course's design takes advantage of the prevailing southwesterly winds, adding a challenging element to approach shots.
With a total of four par 5s, nine par 4s, and five par 3s, the Grand Falls Golf Club accommodates golfers of all skill levels with white and red tee options. Explore the scenic beauty and historical charm of this golfing gem on the Exploits River.
